Community-Based Surveillance

Providence offers surveillance services in order to allow court-involved youths to remain safely in their homes and communities while receiving planned rehabilitative and educational services. Community surveillance involves intensive community contacts focused on increased accountability, school and/or work attendance, and compliance with court orders. Electronic monitoring equipment may be used in conjunction with community surveillance services to offer less restrictive, more efficient alternatives to incarceration, while maintaining a focus on public safety, rehabilitation and accountability.
