Virginia
Through local, state and federal funds, FPS of Virginia provides a continuum of home, community and school based programs including: Intensive In-Home Services, Home Based Counseling, Therapeutic Day Treatment, Mental Health Support,; Substance abuse services, 7 Challenges, Adolescent Sex Offender Services, Parental Sensei Services, Therapeutic Mentoring. Our New River Valley office operates a state of the art Therapeutic Foster Care program. Our Virtual Residential Program (VRP©™) is a distinctive service designed to provide families, schools, and communities with a diversion alternative to unnecessary out-of-home placements and/or to expedite successful step-down of youth following residential or psychiatric placements. FPS of Virginia collaborates with local and state teams to assess needs, to establish best practices, and to implement responsive programs. In 2003, FPS of Virginia contracted with Virginia Tech to complete an Outcome study of the Virtual Residential Program (VRP©™) offered by FPS of Virginia. The study showed that clients involved in this program have serious behavioral health issues, yet the majority (71%) were maintained in their home or community through participating in VRP. FPS of Virginia will continue to offer programs geared towards maintaining youth and children in their communities, and to providing families with high quality care. LogistiCare has been managing non-emergency medical (NEMT) and other social service transportation programs for government agencies and managed care organization (MCOs) since 1989. LogistiCare currently is the nation’s largest and most experienced manager of Medicaid NEMT programs for state governments and MCOs, providing over 17 million NEMT trips annually in 36 states and the District of Columbia. LogistiCare has also managed other types of human service transportation programs such as ADA paratransit, school transportation, commercial ambulance, and elderly dial-a-ride services. LogistiCare pioneered what is known as the “brokerage” model for delivering transportation services. Under the brokerage model, the funding entity outsources the management of their transportation benefit to a professional transportation management company, usually under a full-risk capitated financial arrangement. LogistiCare’s consistent record of cost saving and service quality has been instrumental in the increasing adoption of the NEMT broker model by state Medicaid agencies and MCOs throughout the country.
