Dockside is certified as a Medicaid provider by the Department of Health and Human Services in the State of Indiana and certified by the state as an Addiction Services Provider. Dockside offers a range of home-based and outpatient services designed to address the needs of high-risk youth and their families. The agency’s Masters -trained therapists and case managers work closely with the Department of Child Services and Juvenile Court Probation Departments in order to provide coordinated and effective service delivery. This community-based, individualized approach reduces the risk of disruptive and costly out-of-home placement.

In response to a growing need for therapeutic foster care homes capable of addressing the emotional, developmental and behavioral needs of children and adolescents who have suffered abuse and neglect Dockside has developed a professionalized system of care. Dockside foster parents actually become part of the “treatment team “through extensive training and direct participation in the clinical services provided for children residing in their home. Individualized treatment planning and a “wrap-around” approach to service delivery provide the support and assistance necessary to allow foster parents to address the children’s special needs in a community-based setting.

Dockside also offers the Seven Challenges Program for adolescents ages 12 to 18 who are having problems with alcohol and other drugs. This developmentally appropriate program is designed to help young people think carefully about their lives and their use of substances and to make wise, healthy decisions for themselves. The program is developmentally appropriate, holistic and has been proven to be effective through research. Multi-family group therapy is provided along with Life Skills education, both essential to the success of the program.

A to Z In-Home Tutoring provides effective, high-quality tutoring to students to improve their grades and their ability to learn. Many of our clients were born into poverty, and some were abused and neglected or abandoned. With the right inspiration and a little help on the academic front, these kids can quickly catch up in school, get ahead and develop the skills and self-esteem to be successful in life. Individualized programs are tailored to the unique needs of each child and services are offered in the client’s home, at their school or in the community.

Upon completing the A to Z program, students typically acquire six new math skills and six new language arts skills. On average, student composite scores increase by 21% from pre-test scores to post-test scores. And parents love the A to Z program. In surveys of parents completed at the conclusion of every school year, A to Z receives very high marks year in and year out. Parents see improvements in areas such as: grades, behavior at school, attendance and self-esteem. Last year, A to Z’s parent satisfaction rate was 97%.

A to Z In-Home Tutoring was founded in Nashville, TN and provides tutoring to children in 22 states and Washington, DC. A to Z’s corporate office is located in Brentwood, TN.
